I have decided to wrap my ride here at the end of segment 6 in Kanab, postponing the Arizona segments, and head back to Breck over the next week with the Brams.

I have ridden over 2000 miles between the Canada portion of the GDR and 5 and a half of the first 6 segments of the WWR. i have been gone for over 3 months, and the Colorado autumn, friends, and family are calling to me.
The routes upcoming challenges are surmountable, and the Arizona segments still intrigue me, but getting back while playing guide to my Dutch biking compatriots sounds better.  Gets me back to Glenda and friends sooner, and also solves my return trip logistics, born chiefly by Glenda.

We will see some desert and ancient puebloan sites before doing some mountain biking, hopefully in Crested Butte and then Breck last weekend in Sept.
Thanks for following along, there will probably be a couple more posts in transit and a wrap up over the next couple of weeks.

WWR Day 19 Challis, ID to Upper O'Brien CG on Salmon River Wed Aug  14, 2019 Distance 42.5 Start elevation 5177 End elevation  5870 High point  5960 Low point ~5100 Climbing ~ 1400' Ride time 4:47 Total time about 5:40 Days bike camping: 13 Contiguous days riding : 3 Another nice blue sky day, with highs in the mid 80's. I follow the Salmon on Hwy 75 all day today. The day started with a breakfast burrito at the restaurant next door to my RV park. It was huge and I did not get it all, so I took the remainder for lunch. A little shopping to fill out dinner and tomorrows breakfast and I am on the road. The salmon valley is wide and hills dry around Challis, much as it was yesterday. WWR Day 14 Elk City to Poet Creek CG on MacGruder corridor Thur Aug 8 2019 Distance 37.1 Start elevation 4010 End elevation 4990 High point  about 7025 Low point 4010 Climbing ~ 3800 Ride time 5:13 Total time about 6:15  Days bike camping: 8 Contiguous days riding : 1 Well to day is departure day from Elk City , for both Glenda and I . It is also our parting as Glenda is heading the long 1200 mile journey back home, and I have a couple thousand plus laying in front of me. She has been a champ, towing the trailer these past 4 weeks, parking and setting up camp while I ride, dealing with me as I stop in brewpubs and local/only bars in teenie tiny towns, and providing a nice smile when I need it. I couldn't do this sort of adventure with out her and I am truly grateful for her support and being a sport about it.
