Well today I reached the good ol' US of A after 5+ weeks and about 320 miles of riding in Canada. I have now completed the original Great Divide Mountain Bike Route and then some. Now time to get plugging on the 2700 mile Wild West Route.

An interesting warning sign as I approached the USA border.

Where we camping in Kikomun PP they have a number Lakes, and an active painted turtle community they are protecting. Apparently not confined to the park, they must be around Baynes Lake too.

It was all road today, the majority paved, some 9 miles on hwy. No convenient map for the WWR, GPS coordinates files and I am depending on my Garmin GPS. Worked well, as I practiced in Canada. Though tough to judge distances

It is a bit hazy today in the Tobacco Valley, not sure if there is some wildfire smoke blowing in or not. Doesn't smell smokey.
It was also 95 degrees here today. Last year while we were in these part it was smokey and over 100 some days.

I quite riding earlier than time would have allowed as I chose to camp next to the Tobacco River and a avail myself to its cooling and soothing waters

While dwelling there I saw a bald eagle following the river pretty close, maybe 20' off water, about eye level to my camp. Then another a while later, then perhaps a juvenile an hour later yet.
Later a mother and 8ish duckling are swimming and fishing right below, and lo, an eagle comes hunting. That got the ducks into formation right quick. The duckling can paddle above the water and move very fast, and the eagle was not successful
